Our Vision:
We desire to see the South Pacific Islands filled with pastors who are proclaiming Christ, making disciples, and shepherding churches.
Our Mission:
To strengthen churches in the South Pacific by serving Fiji Bible College and the Fijian Bible Churches.
What We Are Doing:
Teaching at Fiji Bible College – Michael is currently teaching at Fiji Bible College. Students in Fiji and throughout the South Pacific have been able to attend courses at this God-honoring college at almost no cost since the school began over 40 years ago. Every teacher raises his own support so that the students have the opportunity to receive vital training for pastoral ministry! The 20+ students attending each year would not have the means to participate in this rigorous pastoral preparation program if it were not for the school’s commitment to trusting the Lord for support.
Outer Island Leadership Training – Not all pastors in Fiji and the South Pacific have access to the comprehensive training provided at Fiji Bible College. There are many pastors in the outer islands who have not been equipped to study and proclaim the Word of God. For example, our friend George (a fisherman by trade, pictured on the right) because the pastor of his village church because he was the oldest man in his village. George desperately wants and needs basic biblical training. We will arrange multi-day programs, basic distance-learning courses, and handle the travel logistics to these remote islands, so that we can meet with these men who are eager to receive biblical training.
Conferences and Events – We will be hosting a variety of events in Fiji and the South Pacific. These will include pastors conferences, biblical counseling conferences, and other evangelistic and discipleship events. We aim to equip pastors and lay leaders to minister more effectively as they serve their churches.
Resources – We are working with publishing companies and churches to bring as many Bibles, theology books, and other resources to address the needs of pastors and churches in the South Pacific.
About The Seehusen Family
We are the Seehusen family. We moved from Southern California to Viti Levu, Fiji to serve in training pastors and equipping churches throughout the South Pacific.
How We Met – Jordan grew up in southern California and I (Michael) grew up in Texas and the Midwest. We met at Bible study in the Fall of 2005 while I was studying business at The Master’s College and Jordan completed her degree in communications at UCLA. The Lord had given us each a heart for serving in the local church and a passion for overseas missions. God divinely placed us on the same missions team in 2006. It was during this 6-week missions trip in Uganda that we first officially talked about the idea of getting married and maybe one day being full-time missionaries overseas.
Life and Ministry – After marrying in 2007, Jordan worked 8 years as a conference and event coordinator and I worked in finance and sales before heading to seminary. I completed my Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary in December, 2015, and my ACBC certification in the Fall of 2017. During these years of training we have had the joy of serving the high school ministry at Grace Community Church for several years and then transitioned over to serve in the college ministry at Placerita Bible Church as the college ministry intern, and currently as a small group leader for our adult Bible Study. The Lord has demonstrated His love, grace, and faithfulness during these years and we are so thankful for the wonderful experiences and fellowship we have experienced from our local churches.
Our Newest Family Members – On June 2, 2015 Taj Landon joined the Seehusen family. Taj is one of life’s greatest blessings and God has given him the sweetest personality! He loves to laugh, play sports, and read his Bible. We are truly thankful to be his parents! Victoria Jane Seehusen was born on March 1, 2018 and we are loving life with her sweet smiles and joyful personality!
Our Ministry Partners – We have been given the opportunity to partner with The College of Theology & Evangelism Fiji (Visit Their Website HERE). This unique college and seminary provides free education, housing, and board to their students in an effort to equip and train the spiritual leaders in Fiji who often must be bi-vocational and aren’t able to afford to attend Bible school. They currently offer accredited BA and MA degrees and are working hard to expand their program. In addition to faithful training and discipleship, CTEF has a heavy focus on outreach to the local youth population through VBS, sports camps, and summer camps. God is using this school and its ministries to make an eternal impact in the South Pacific!
Our Ministry Goals – Our primary goal is to strengthen churches in Fiji and the South Pacific. We are partnering with Ambassadors for Christ International USA (Visit Their Website HERE), which has played an integral role in the building and development of The College of Theology and Evangelism Fiji. We are currently praying that the Lord will have our family prepared to leave for Fiji as soon as possible. Our role will be to work alongside the faithful believers currently serving the Lord within the local churches as well as the students and graduates of CTEF. It is our aim to serve these ministries by establishing a Biblical Counseling training program. Please pray for us as we serve the Lord in Fiji!
